Choosing A Pet

There are many types of pet available and the St Helen's staff will be pleased to help you to choose an animal.

Buyer beware! It is advisable to obtain new pets from a registered breeder, on personal recommendation or from a recognised charity or re-homing organisation. We do not recommend buying kittens or puppies from pet shops or markets. Great care should be taken when engaging in private transactions when the seller is not a professional breeder. Pedigree papers should always be available at time of purchase and, if genuine, can be verified by the appropriate organisation, for instance the Kennel Club.

We are available to provide advice and assistance to enable you to look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with your choice of pet.
